From my window I am watching something that makes me think that we are always watching up and never look around. There is a man inside a dumpster sorting trash bags looking for aluminum cans. Simple right, dirty too! We advice about having a goal, a clear purpose, perseverance and more; but I am looking at a clear example of what we preach.
Every time we want to show what success is we look at the big names and numbers? This man, who I really do not know, and who I have noticed for the first time is a practitioner of things we talk about: establish a goal, make a plan, work hard, persevere, and more. That maybe his needs are simple, yes. That he is just struggling, could be. The important thing is that he has a clear goal, knows how to achieve it, and has the perseverance to work for it. These are concepts necessary for any enterprise that we want to embark.
This is really a very simple experience, but things like this are the ones that make you wonder about life experiences. It is possible that you disagree with my perception, but lately we have read and heard of people that apparently were financially poor, and really were not. Who knows, maybe this guy has seen opportunity where we see just trash. Time will tell!
